Physiotherapy is a professional Allied healthcare discipline directed primarily towards the prevention or alleviation of movement dysfunction in people with all ages.
What does a Physiotherapist do?
Physiotherapist evaluates your condition through a thorough physical assessment of Pain, Functional limitations, Disabilities, or other health related concerns to establish a diagnosis, formulate treatment plan designed to meet an overall objective and to increase your ability to the highest possible level of independence.
What are the benefits of physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists focus first and foremost on resolving pain, stabilizing an injury or condition and preventing it from getting worse. Then we focus on restoring strength, movement and function as much as possible. Our ultimate goal is to enable our patients to manage their own physical well-being independently.
The sooner the treatment of an injury or condition begins the better. Early intervention prevents a condition from becoming chronic, keeps muscle and other soft tissue structures from weakening through disuse, speeds healing and, above all, increases the chances of full recovery. Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Yes. You may need to consult your Orthopedic / Physician. If further investigations / opinions are needed, communication between the Physiotherapist and your Orthopedic / Physician is usually encouraged for your betterment. This will only be done with your consent only.
What should I wear when I visit for treatment?
All Physiotherapy evaluation is private. Loose-fitting, comfortable clothing is recommended. You may want to wear or bring shorts if we are treating an ankle or knee.
Will I receive treatment on my first visit?
On your first visit you will be asked about the details of your medical history and an examination will take place. If necessary, exercises will be provided and explained to assist with treatment.
How many treatment sessions will I need?
The number of treatment sessions required will depend on your condition. We will inform you how many sessions you will need at consultation.
Is Physiotherapy sessions only available, if I have an injury or attend for preventative treatment?
No, it is not necessary. Here at Stimulus we also conduct Postural Assessment and Correction, Soft Tissue Mobilization and other forms of Preventive Physiotherapy which is an excellent way to improve health and stress relief.
Do you do home visits?
Yes we do. Please feel free to get in touch to arrange an appointment.
